Tutoring Center
The Tutoring Center offers a variety of services to help students excel academically. Peer-tutors help students develop study skills, understand concepts, and increase self-confidence. Types of tutoring include:
FREE SERVICES
- Supplemental Instruction (SI) tutoring in traditionally difficult course. SI Leaders attend class, work closely with the instructor and SI supervisor, and facilitate four hours of open SI session a week and additional test reviews.
- Walk-in Labs are provided for math/physics and the sciences. See schedule at: http://www.unr.edu/tutoring .
- Small group tutoring is weekly tutoring session with 2-10 students in the same class with the same tutor. Students can sign up for one or more sessions a week.
Subsidized One-on -One sessions
One-on-one sessions are $20 for 5 sessions. They can be purchased through myNEVADA.unr.edu or at the Cashier's Office in the Fitzgerald Student Services Building.
The office is open:
Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
